Ensuring Accelerated Learning While Building Teacher Capacity

ELA WIN Workshop

Each grade level, 3rd-English II, will include the following:

Explanatory Loom Videos, including:

4-Week Map to Success, including: 

  • Focus Parts of the identified WIN Standards (“We are learning to…”) 
  • Learning Targets (“So that I can…”) 
  • Success Criteria (“I’ll know I’ve got it when I…”)

4 Weeks of Organized Quality Instructional Materials, including both created and Open-Ed

A 5-day detailed agenda for each week, including 

  • Minute-by-Minute Guidance to Maximize Instructional Time
  • Links to Video Clips and/or Recorded Looms, when necessary, for teacher preparation
  • PowerPoint Slide numbers for easy cross-reference between the Agenda and the PowerPoint
  • Titles to specific handouts for easy cross-reference between the Agenda and the Weekly Materials
  • Specifics for what the teacher will do, including “think aloud” guidance when necessary 
  • Specifics for what the student will do
  • Specifics for what the class will do

A 5-Day PowerPoint that follows the corresponding 5-Day Agenda, including:

  • Slide Separators for each day
  • Notes on slides that correspond to the 5-Day Agenda
  • Animated slides, when necessary, to follow along with the Agenda
  • Embedded Video Clips, when possible, to follow along with the Agenda
  • Screenshots of Materials for easy student reference 
  • Images of Graphic Organizers, when needed, for whole-class modeling and instruction

Weekly Materials for Student Engagement, ordered and/or named for easy cross-reference to the 5-Day Weekly Agenda and the 5-Day Weekly PowerPoint
