From referral to placement to IEP development and individualized instruction, Kids First supports teachers and administrators in providing effective support services for students with disabilities. Our goal is to help schools and districts create a cohesive environment that brings together the special education and general education teachers. Offering one-on-one coaching and professional development, we give teachers the tools, expertise, and confidence to ensure success for all students.
SEL begins with putting Kids First. We take a holistic approach from staff to student, encompassing relationships within the school and creating the structure for alliances in the community. Kids First will navigate faculties and staff through MDE SEL Standards and integrate the five domains to develop or strengthen foundations and processes at your school. Kids First will facilitate training on procedures to assist teachers and administration in the successful implementation of the three-tier instructional model. Our coaches will share resources for evidence based academic interventions for the three tiers of instruction. Customized forms to collect accurate and reliable data to drive instruction and assist in making decisions to manage the three tiers of support for ALL students are collaboratively created to meet your specific needs. Together, we will develop protocols to support students for best academic, behavioral, and social emotional outcomes.

Our job-embedded offerings are customized and include onsite and virtual professional development and coaching. The K1 LEADership Institute, a cohort based instructional leadership training program, unlocks access to a statewide professional support network and provides participants with hands-on learning opportunities in Leading, Educating, Advancing, and Developing leadership teams.
